W13 Reflection: Entrepreneurial Journal

This week has been one of reflection and growth, made meaningful by what I’ve learned in my studies. Several lessons stood out and gave me insights I can use personally and professionally.

One big takeaway came from President Thomas S. Monson’s talk about gratitude. The story of the lepers in Luke 17 was a powerful reminder of how important it is to say thank you, even when life is hard. It hit me how often we, like the nine lepers, forget to show gratitude. This made me want to be more thankful, focusing on what’s good in my life instead of what’s not. President Monson’s idea to “count your blessings” inspired me to start writing down things I’m thankful for every day, and it’s already helping me see things more positively.

In the professional world, Larry North’s story about being an entrepreneur really showed how important it is to be tough. He talked about dealing with lawsuits, betrayal, and other setbacks, and it made me realize how essential it is to stay positive and keep going. His point about learning from failures really stuck with me, especially as I work toward going full-time with content creation and entrepreneurship. He also stressed the value of having mentors, which reminded me to keep learning from others who’ve been through similar experiences.

Stan Christensen’s advice on careers was also really helpful. He said to choose what you love instead of trying to meet others’ expectations, and that really hit home for me. I’ve struggled with balancing what I’m passionate about and what feels “practical.” His idea that we shape our own stories reminded me that being true to myself is key.

The case study on entrepreneurial opportunities added some practical tips. It highlighted the importance of matching opportunities with my goals, skills, and life situation. The idea of evaluating societal needs, economic feasibility, and personal satisfaction together gave me a clear way to think about new ventures. This fits with my plans to grow my projects while balancing my family life.

Looking ahead, I’m excited to keep working on blending my entrepreneurial dreams with my life goals. I want to refine the “sweet spot” where what the world needs overlaps with what I love and am good at. I also want to make gratitude a bigger part of how I live and interact with others.

This week’s lessons have been a mix of spiritual insight, practical advice, and personal inspiration. They’ve pushed me to live with more gratitude, pursue my goals with determination, and stay true to who I am.
